MUSTANG, Okla. – Unranked and unhearaled, the St. Croix Legacy doesn’t seem to mind.

The Legacy is trying to do just that – leave a ‘Legacy’ on the 2025 season and the Women’s Premier Soccer League.

The side improved to 8-1-1 on the season with a 3-1 triumph over Union KC in the WPSL-Central Region semifinals at Mustang (Okla.) High School.

The Legacy advance to the July 13 Central Region finals at 7 p.m. ET against sixth-ranked Oklahoma City FC.

Against Union KC, St. Croix never trailed, building a 2-0 lead by the half and holding on down the stretch with the final two-goal cushion.

Amara Smith opened the scoring in just the seventh minute off a feed from Brooke Nelson for the 1-0 advantage.

Bella Meier buried her opportunity into the back of the net in the 28th minute following a cross from Amara Smith.

Union KC (5-2-4) pulled one back when Reese Birch scored an unassisted goal in the 64th minute. But Union KC could get no closer.

Cecilia Emery re-opened a two-goal lead when she deposited a pass from Nelson for the final margin of 3-1.

The Land of Lakes Division champion St. Croix now stands with an .800 win percentage, a 28-15 scoring edge, and with a 2.80 goals-per-game average offensively entering the Elite Eight. The Legacy also have a 1.50 goals-against-average and only two shutouts – but the side has a knack for winning close games all season.

St. Croix owns four one-goal wins, a pair of two-goal victories and a draw.

Union KC finishes with a 22-13 scoring edge, three shutouts and a 1.19 goals-against-average and competed in several close games this season.
