RED BANK, N.J. – Nathaniel Anevski came through in the clutch Saturday evening.

 
The forward from FC Monmouth broke a 2-2 tie with an 87th minute goal as FC Monmouth escaped with a 3-2 victory over NY Braveheart in a The League For Clubs-Northeast Conference contest at Count Basie Park. 
 

Anevski booted home the game-winner just a little more than three minutes before stoppage time and broke the stalemate in the closely-contested matchup..

 
Daniel Bedoya tied the game at 2-2 for NV Braveheart in the 52nd minute, but Monmouth’s defense was sterling down the stretch and allowed for Anevski to step up in the clutch in the waning minutes.
 
Francesco Perinelli staked NY Braveheart to a 1-0 lead with a fifth-minute goal. But that was the last time that Braveheart would lead in this game.
 

Patrick Shaw netted an equalizer in the 37th minute for FC Monmouth, while teammate Andrew Araya gave Monmouth a 2-1 lead at the break with a tally two minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half. 

 
Joseph Grossman recorded eight saves in 10 chances to gain the win in goal for FC Monmouth.
 

FC Monmouth continued its fast start to the 2025 season, as the club is now 3-0-0 atop the Northeast Conference standings with nine points and have outscored the opposition 11-3

 

Luis Hurtado-Osario made eight saves for NY Braveheart, which dropped to 0-2-0 and has been outscored 7-4 this season.

 

FIRST STATE FC  5, LIGHTHOUSE BOYS CLUB 3: First State built leads of 3-0 in the first half and at one time led 5-1 in the second half before staving off a late comeback attempt by Lighthouse Boys Club in The League For Clubs-Northeast Conference game at Abessiono Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware.  

 

It was the first win of the season for First State FC (1-1-0), which moved into fifth place in the conference with three points.

 

After Shuntaro Morimoto gave First State a 5-1 lead with a 63rd minute goal, Lighthouse finally got untracked with goals by Salvatore Ficarotta (65th) and Henry Gamez (78th) to close to within 5-3.

First State FC’s defense locked down after that point to hang on for the win.

Ryudai (fifth), Vushiki Fujisawa (27th), Taiga Matsumoto (40th) and Fuma Okawa (57th) helped First State build its 4-1 advantage. Victor Jaunav recorded the win in goal for First State.

Gamez also scored in the 53rd minute for Lighthouse Boys Club (0-3-0), which scored a season-high in goals. 

 

MET OVAL ACADEMY 3, KINGSTON STOCKADE FC 0: Alex Murania notched the clean sheet in goal and Met Oval’s defense was in lockdown mode as the side improved to 2-0-0 on the young season.

Meanwhile, Met Oval Academy's offense broke open a late 1-0 lead with goals at the 90+1 and 90+3 marks to put the game away. 

 
Liam Commondoore gave Met Oval a 1-0 lead and broke the stalemate with his 77th minute goal.

It wasn’t until stoppage time where Met Oval iced the contest with its two late goals. Luke Reyeur scored one minute into stoppage time and Enry Hernandez booted one into the back of the net three minutes into extra time to cap the scoring.

Met Oval Academy has now outscored its two opponents 7-2 to open the season and sit in second place in the Northeast Division with six points.
