PITTSBURGH (Feb. 20, 2026) — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has signed defender Owen Mikoy to his first professional contract ahead of the 2026 season. The 24-year-old joins the club on a one-year deal with a team option for 2027, pending approval from the USL and U.S. Soccer.

Mikoy most recently wrapped up his collegiate career as a graduate transfer at the University of Kentucky. He appeared in 16 matches for the Wildcats, starting the final 11 contests as Kentucky captured the Sun Belt Conference regular-season title and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

“Owen is a big, strong center back who moves well and is comfortable playing out of the back,” Sporting Director Dan Visser said. “He brings a mature presence to the position, and we’re excited about the contributions he’ll make to our defensive unit.”

A native of Atlanta, Mikoy began his college career at Campbell University, where he developed into a key leader for the Camels. As a senior captain, he was the only player to start all 18 matches in 2024, helping Campbell record seven shutouts. Over his time with the program, Mikoy totaled two goals and three assists and was part of the 2021 Big South Conference championship team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

The Riverhounds continue preseason action at noon tomorrow when they host Western Conference side Lexington SC at Highmark Stadium.
