SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 13, 2026) — Bay FC forwards Onyeka Gamero and Alex Pfeiffer have been selected to join the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team training camp set for Feb. 24 through March 3 in Chula Vista, California.

The call-up marks the first international selection of 2026 for both players. Gamero and Pfeiffer become the second and third Bay FC players to earn national team recognition this year.

Gamero Returns to U.S. Youth National Team

Gamero earns her first U.S. Youth National Team call-up since 2023, when she starred for the U-20 squad at the Concacaf U-20 Championship. As the youngest player on the roster, she scored twice in the tournament, including an 80th-minute equalizer in the final against Mexico. The United States finished runner-up and secured qualification for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Following that tournament, Gamero signed her first professional contract with Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona’s second team and was later nominated for U.S. Soccer’s 2023 Young Player of the Year award.

Pfeiffer Rejoins U-20 Squad

Pfeiffer returns to the U-20 program after recovering from injury during much of 2025. The 18-year-old forward was previously part of the U-17 squad that captured the 2024 Concacaf U-17 Championship title.

She joined Bay FC in January from the Kansas City Current after appearing in seven matches across all competitions in 2025.

Road to Poland 2026

The upcoming camp is part of ongoing preparation for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled for Sept. 5–27 in Poland. The United States secured qualification at the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship.

The tournament will feature 24 nations. Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006, are eligible for selection. The current camp roster includes 16 players born in 2006, seven born in 2007, and one born in 2008.
