ST. LOUIS — A remarkable season for Donavan Phillip reached its crowning moment Friday night as the NC State junior forward was named the 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy winner, honoring him as the top men’s collegiate soccer player in the nation.
Phillip received the award during the Missouri Athletic Club’s annual Hermann Trophy banquet in St. Louis, with the ceremony aired live on the National Soccer Network (NSN). The Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual honor in college soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967.
Phillip put together one of the most dominant attacking seasons in recent NCAA history, finishing the year as the nation’s leading goal scorer with 19 goals, while adding two assists for 40 points. His production powered NC State to a 16-3-4 record and the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA National Championship match, capping a breakthrough year for the Wolfpack.
